MIAFF 2017: Today Is The Day

Opening Cocktail & Ceremony 

Come celebrate with animation film fans and content creators on the launch of the 2017 film festival and conference.

Screening of select short films, including “In a heartbeat”, a student film from the US that tells the story of two boys falling in love, in celebration of Montreal Pride Week. The film has become viral on social media and YouTube, becoming an international sensation over the past few weeks.

The Award for best Student Film from the Student Film Contest will be announced at the Opening Ceremony, followed by a screening of selected finalist films and the winners & special mentions.

Venez célébrer avec les fans des films animé et les innovateurs de contenu dès le lancement dudit festival des films et des conférences connexes de 2017.

La diffusion de courts-métrages choisis comprend “In A Heartbeat”, un film étudiant des Etats-Unis qui porte sur deux garçons qui tombent amoureux l’un de l’autre, ce qui rentre dans le cadre des célébrations de la Semaine de la Fierté de Montréal. Ledit film est devenu viral sur les médias sociaux et sur la You Tube et retient l’attention internationale depuis quelques semaines.

Le gagnant du Concours des films étudiants se fera décerner le prix lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture qui sera suivie d’une diffusion de films choisis en concours et l’annonce des gagnants ainsi que mentions particulières.

Fund your animation or VR/360º film. Join the discussion with a panel of experts. Learn the ins and outs of an international co-productions with Canada. 

Canada has the most co-production treaties in the world. Representatives from SODEC, TELEFILM, CORUS and other independent producers will come together to share their expertise and give advise on funding an animated project, demystify tax credits and help navigate the financing of film and new media content. Broadcasters, distributors, independent filmmakers and producers to government agencies come together. 

A lively panel discussion on a most challenging subject. Learn from the experts and share your own point of view while gaining a new perspective.

Financez votre film animé ou bien film en RV 360º . Participez à la discussion animé d’un panel d’experts. Apprenez les tenants et aboutissants des coproductions avec le Canada.

Le Canada dispose du plus grand nombre de traités de coproductions au monde. Des représentants de la SODEC, de TELEFILM, de CORUS et d’autres agences de réalisations privées partageront leur expertises et donneront conseils portant sur le financement de projets de films animés, toute en démystifiant le système de crédits sur les impôts et en avisant sur le financement de films et du contenu de nouvelles médias. Diffuseurs, distributeurs, cinéastes indépendants, réalisateurs, et agences gouvernementales se réuniront.

One of the most widely known horror games creators comes to MIAFF!

Mike Mood is the Co-Founder of The Meatly Games and co-creator of Bendy and the Ink Machine. Mike has been making games since early 2014 both as a professional and a hobbyist. Leaving a solid IT career behind and jumping into game development with no education or programming background allowed Mike to start with fresh eyes of the hit video game described as an “episodic survival horror video game” Bendy and the Ink Machine” has become a worldwide phenomenon. Mike shares his story on the ongoing success of his massive hit! With branding and merchandise already available Mike shares his story with MIAFF audience. Join us Saturday morning to gather and learn about the first horror cartoon inkblot ever!

Un des plus célèbres créateurs de jeux d'horreur vient au MIAFF!

Mike Mood est le co-fondateur de The Meatly Games et le co-créateur de Bendy and The Ink Machine. Mike fait des jeux depuis le début de 2014 professionnellement et comme passe-temps. Laisser derrière une solide carrière en technologies de l'information et plonger dans le développement de jeux avec aucune formation ni expérience en programmation a permis à Mike de commencer avec un regard neuf dans le jeu video à succès, qui a été décrit comme «un jeu video épisodique d'horreur et de survie», Bendy and The Ink Machine, qui est devenu un phénomène à travers le monde. Mike partage son histoire et le succès continu du jeu. Avec une marque et de la marchandise déjà disponible, Mike partage son histoire avec le public du MIAFF.
