We are happy to present, out of competition, the acclaimed editor Tyler Hubby’s feature documentary directorial debut about the late iconoclastic American multi-media artist Tony Conrad, who has influenced artists and activists ranging from the Velvet Underground to The Yes Men. Twenty-two years in the making, the film follows Tony Conrad’s strange and uncompromising fifty-year artistic path through experimental films, music, video, public television and education and his unlikely resurgence as a noteworthy composer and performer.

In CASSETTE - A DOCUMENTRAY MIXTAPE the New York based filmmaker Zack Taylor travels across the US and the European cities, meeting music legends, such as Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye (Fugazi) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), as well as young labels that are still or again recording on tape. The film is a tribute to the analogue medium with plenty of anecdotes, music and nostalgic melodies.
