Movies that Matter Foundation
Movies that Matter believes that film is a powerful weapon against social indifference. Film has an unprecedented capacity to open eyes. Movies that Matter, an Amnesty International initiative, offers a platform for engaged cinema. Poignant fiction films and revealing documentaries that stir debate about human rights, sustainability and the fight against injustice. These films are screened at schools, at the Movies that Matter Festival in the Hague and at the On Tour film theatres located throughout The Netherlands. Movies that Matter is also the home base for various activities. Besides the Movies that Matter Festival, the organisation realises a human rights programme at IDFA, educational programmes and monthly human rights film and debate programmes across a network of 15 Dutch theatres. Committed to the support and promotion of human rights film screenings worldwide, Movies that Matter offers an extra stimulus to the wider circulation of human rights films in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Movies that Matter gladly considers your entry for the Movies that Matter Festival or for one of its other human rights themed programmes, too.
We look forward to seeing your film!
