NEW LOCATION
After 11 years of hosting the event in Miami, including winning the status of Miami’s Best Film Festival twice, we made the difficult, but thrilling decision to move our operation to New York City.
I'm very excited about hosting our event in this dynamic city, where even more filmmakers are available to participate and attend, and where we could inspire even more women to enter the film and performance arts industry. After all, New York City is one of the world’s largest independent cinema hubs and center for media overall.

NEW DATES
When I started the festival back in 2006, I had intended to launch it as part of the International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations happening worldwide.
However, it was impossible to hold the event on this day due to conflicts with other programs occurring in Miami.
I’m very happy that with this move to New York, we can include WIFF as part of IWD as originally intended.

Kicking off on March 8, International Women’s Day, WIFF will include the screening of more than 40 films from women around the world as well as our two-day Women in Film, Media & Entertainment Conference. Our "Breaking Down Barriers" conference is a highlight of the industry offering panels, workshops and master classes spearheaded by top film professionals. This year’s conference will also feature discussions on how to create and monetize content for digital platforms.
