The last Cannes Film Festival entry is described as “For some, the countryside is a place of exile where all hopes ultimately merge with solitude. A boundless place of exile where all hopes and dreams merge with despair like the coinciding destinies of fathers and sons.” This is Ahlat Agaci, or Le Poirer Sauvage, or The Wild Pear Tree, and it’s directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and starring Dogu Demirkol, Murat Cemcir, Bennu Yildirimlar. It can be seen at the Grand Theatre Lumiere tonight at 18:30.
