There are £4,500 cash prizes available across our short film competitions. LIFF is also a qualifying film festival for the Academy Awards and BAFTA.
The winning films in the Louis Le Prince International Short Film Competition and World Animation Award are eligible for the Academy’s Short Film Awards. The festival’s British and Yorkshire short film competitions are BAFTA qualifying.

· Yorkshire Short Film Competition- £500 Prize
· Dance Short Film Competition- £500 Prize
· Fanomenon International Competition (Genre / Fantasy Short Films)- £500 Prize
· Dead Short Competition (British horror shorts under 10 mins)

The Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) is the largest film festival in England outside London. Founded in 1987, it is held in November at various venues throughout Leeds. In 2014, the festival welcomed over 40,000 visitors and showed over 300 films from around the world, shorts and features, commercial and independent.
