1st edition of FILMADRID: More than 80 films including the latest work of Pedro Costa; Jean-Luc Godard en 3D; up and coming talent in Spanish cinema; and the posthumous screening of Manoel de Oliveira's last film
- From the 5th to the 13th of June FILMADRID will fill the Spanish capital with films from all over the planet, screening a total of 30 films in the open competition sections; Competición Internacionaland Competición Vanguardia.
- The first ever screening in Spain, of the recently deceased Manoel de Oliveira's last film, Visita ou Memórias e Confissões, accompanied by O velho do restelo, will close the festival.
- For the first time in Madrid, hosting a screening in 3D of Adiós al lenguaje by Jean-Luc Godard.
- Presenting the Portuguese filmmaker Pedro Costa in Madrid opening the festival with the screening of his latest film, Cavalo Dinheiro, selected for for the Competición Internacional.
- The section Focos, which is a section dedicated to filmmakers of international relevance, but whose works remains practically unknown in Madrid. This year the focus will be on the German Jan Soldat and the Philippine Lav Diaz.
- The section Vanguardias Live, which takes the cinema to the streets presenting special performances by the directors Salomé Lamas, Lois Patiño and Juan Barrero.
- Academic morning sessions, where the directors will meet up with film students and cinematic enthusiasts.
- The section Pasajes de Cine which dedicates a whole section to the support ofthe up and coming talent in Spanish cinema
