The Awareness Fest is a one-of-a-kind film festival that promotes awareness of today’s issues through the timeless art of film. Having showcased over 500 films, the Awareness Festival has grown rapidly over the six years of its existence, giving a wide range of filmmakers an opportunity to bring light to today’s pressing issues and meet other like-minded professionals in the film industry. Through this engaging, entertaining, and truly unique experience held in the film capital of the world, filmmakers and film lovers alike have an opportunity to promote and experience topics ranging from ecological, political, health/well being, and spiritual issues.
This year’s 6th annual Awareness Festival will also include events such as filmmaker Q&A’s, parties, panel discussions, live music, and various speakers and artists. With a fusion of filmmakers, artists, environmentalists, educators, alternative health practitioners, and other industry professionals, the Awareness Festival aims to inspire the public to make the world a better place.
With plenty of award opportunities including Youth Awards, Student Film, Audience Award, Music Video Award, Emerging Filmmaker Award, Uplifting Feature/Short, Jury Awards, Narrative Short/Feature, Documentary Short/Feature, Activist Award, and Script Award, the Awareness Festival has a place for every type of filmmaker, including students, new filmmakers, and veteran filmmakers alike.
The Awareness Festival will also be hosting Zen Den, which is an opportunity for people to gather in a one-of-a-kind event providing rejuvenation and transformation. Zen Den offers treatment to all through wellness classes such as yoga/tai chi, and holistic treatments. In the past, Zen Den has brought socially conscious celebrities as well as well-known filmmakers and global citizens.
This year, the Awareness Festival is also giving filmmakers more opportunity to be seen, through a trailer contest, where the winning short films will be used to open up the festival, as well as be shown in between films, throughout the festival, entry is free. We are looking for a short 2-minute (or less) film, that can be either an interview, montage, slideshow, etc, that displays how a film of any genre has opened the eyes of your world, the world of someone else, or the world at large.
