BERGAMO FILM MEETING International Film Festival
35th edition | March 11-19, 2017
The 35th edition of Bergamo Film Meeting - which will take place from March 11 to 19, 2017 - is starting to take shape: the already announced retrospective devoted to award-winning Czech director Miloš Forman will be complemented by a focus on the new talents in contemporary cinema. Supported by the EU through the MEDIA sub-program of Creative Europe, the Festival offers a privileged overlook on the filmmakers of our continent, not only through the Competition - Exibition and the documentary film section, but also with "Europe, Now!", which will feature the complete filmography of three up and coming directors - Thanos Anastopoulos (Greece), Dominique Cabrera (France) and Dagur Kári (Iceland) – and, last but not least, through the usual focus on animation cinema, this year devoted to Estonian filmmaker Chintis Lundgren.
The 35th edition of Bergamo Film Meeting will officially open Friday, March 10 at the Teatro Donizetti: the program of the evening includes a screening - at 9:00 PM - of the 180' full version of Amadeus - Director's Cut, preceded at 8:00 PM by the opening of the exhibition "Milos Forman, la ribellione e lo sfarzo. Costumi da Oscar di Theodor Pištěk" (Milos Forman, rebellion and pageantry. Oscar-winning costumes by Theodor Pištěk) that will bring to Bergamo the priceless original costumes created for Amadeus and Valmont by Academy Award-winning designer Theodor Pištěk.
